The selection of Governor Sarah Palin as the vice-presidential candidate for the Republican Party has certainly introduced new energy into an already historic general election.

As a registered voter, I realize this election cycle is not only about choosing our next president: It is about becoming involved in the political process of our democratic republic. The United States is unique among other nations because we have more than one way to participate in politics.
