The African Society of Georgetown, a student organization offering political, social and cultural awareness to and supporting the African diaspora of Georgetown and Washington, D.C., hosted its annual Ubuntu Fall Harvest Dinner and fundraiser. Ubuntu is a South African concept celebrating humanity toward others. The society partnered with Age Africa, a nonprofit organization striving to provide girls’ education in Africa and and offer advancement opportunities to young women in Malawi.
This is the first installment of IMPACT: The Power of Student Organizations, a photo series highlighting the lesser-known clubs of Georgetown and the opportunities they offer to the campus community. This project is coordinated by Stephanie Yuan, contributing photography editor at The Hoya.
