SCS Move Downtown Set for August

The School of Continuing Studies will officially move to its new location in downtown D.C. in August, Provost Robert Groves announced in a university-wide email Thursday afternoon.

The 91,000 square-foot space at 640 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., will house 1,100 degree and 2,000 non-degree students, 300 faculty and 100 staff members in time for the fall 2013 semester.

SCS is joining the Georgetown University Law Center in expanding Georgetown’s presence in the downtown D.C. area, a project the Office of Community Engagement has pursued in conversation with city officials and business owners.

SCS students in Georgetown’s eight Master’s of Professional Studies programs, the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies program and the Center for Continuing and Professional Education will move to the new facilities.
