With its unique and affordable products, Trader Joe’s is a staple for many Georgetown University students. It offers a wide range of snacks, cooking necessities and even toiletries.
Glover Park location: 2101 Wisconsin Ave. NW; walk or take the Georgetown University Transportation Shuttles (GUTS) Wisconsin Avenue bus — it’s just a minute away from the first stop.
Foggy Bottom location: 1101 25th St. NW; walk 10 minutes to Wisconsin Avenue and take the D80 or D82 to Pennsylvania Avenue and 26th Street.
Safeway
For classic name-brand items that Trader Joe’s does not offer, Safeway is a good alternative. Although more expensive, Safeway has a larger selection overall, and signing up for Safeway rewards can save money through deals and free monthly items.
Glover Park location: 1855 Wisconsin Ave. NW; walk or take the Georgetown University Transportation Shuttles’ (GUTS) Wisconsin Avenue bus — it’s a short three-minute walk from the first stop.
Rosslyn location: 1525 Wilson Blvd.; take the Rosslyn GUTS and walk seven minutes.
Whole Foods
If you are looking for natural and organic groceries, Whole Foods is a solid choice. While it is the most expensive of the three, Whole Foods offers a large variety of high-quality, responsibly sourced products.
Glover Park location: 2323 Wisconsin Ave. NW; walk 10 minutes to Wisconsin Avenue and take the D80 or D82 to Wisconsin Avenue and Hall Place, or take the Wisconsin Avenue GUTS and walk five minutes from the first stop.
Foggy Bottom location: 2201 I St. NW; walk 10 minutes to Wisconsin Avenue and take the D80 or D82 to Pennsylvania Avenue and 22nd Street.
