Student Assaulted by Cab Driver

A student was assaulted by a taxi driver while being driven to campus, according to the Department of Public Safety.

In a public safety alert emailed to students at 6:11 p.m. Thursday, DPS reported that the cab driver assaulted and made sexual comments to the student as he drove her back to campus around midnight. The victim did not suffer any physical injury.

It is not clear whether the incident occurred on Wednesday or Thursday morning. The PSA said that the student was assault occurred on Wednesday, March 29, but March 29 was actually Thursday.

The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern or African man with short, curly black hair and an accent.

According to the PSA, the Metropolitan Police Department has been notified, and DPS and MPD are investigating the incident.
