Student Witnesses Tail End of Burglary

A student saw a burglar leaving her residence Tuesday evening, but nothing appeared to have been taken from her 33rd Street home.

According to a Public Safety Alert emailed to the university community on Wednesday, the student called the Department of Public Safety at 5:52 pm Tuesday and reported that a male suspect had just burglarized her residence on the 1200 block of 33rd Street. He had entered by forcing open the bathroom window. He then left via the rear door of the house, and the student said that she saw the suspect leaving seemingly without taking anything.

This is the 20th PSA regarding burglary sent out since September.

The Department of Public Safety could not be reached for comment.

MPD is handling the ongoing investigation.
