Eighteen students, including ten incumbent senators, won seats in the Georgetown University Student Association (GUSA) Senate elections, the GUSA election commission announced April 16.
Six senators each were elected to represent the Class of 2026, Class of 2027 and Class of 2028, and will serve a full year in their positions. The class of 2026 senators-elect are Tina Solki (SFS, MSB ’26), Ellen Carter (MSB ’26), Christian Spadini (CAS ’26), Meriam Ahmad (SFS ’26), Rhea Iyer (CAS ’26) and James Beit (MSB ’26).
Han Li (CAS ’27), Jacob Intrator (CAS ’27), Sienna Lipton (CAS ’27), Lecholas Njomin (SFS ’27), Asha Gudipaty (CAS ’27) and Sara Eyob (CAS ’27) were elected to represent the class of 2027.
Li centered his reelection campaign on reforming GUSA’s financial appropriations process and expanding GUSA policy jurisdiction to the Capitol Campus. Eyob’s platform included making Georgetown a sanctuary space for international students, in addition to improving the function of facilities on campus.
Cameran Lane (CAS ’28), Zadie Weaver (CAS ’28), Nikki Jiang (SOH ’28) and Tyler Chase (SFS ’28) were reelected to the class of 2028 seats, in addition to first-time Senator-elects Luke Schneeman (CAS ’28) and Roan Bedoian (CAS ’28).
Bedoian’s campaign advocated for students’ right to free speech and protection for undocumented and international community members in response to the Trump administration’s actions impacting higher education. Chase ran on dining option improvements and reforming the financial appropriations process to create a more equitable distribution of the Student Activities Fee, GUSA’s budget for student clubs and organizations.
