Favorite Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Favorite Georgetown Professor: Father Schall. He gets really involved. He gets choked up at the end of the year. He gets to know you.

Song that psychs you up: “The Greatest Song in the World” (tribute) by Tenacious D

True or false:

Running is your life: False.

Georgetown is the ideal school for you: True.

You have regrets from the past four years:True.

What do you regret? Wasting my first two years running, just running through the motions. The coach, Frank Gagliano, who has since left, was a legend and I didn’t take advantage of his being here.

Favorite place to run: I spent a summer two years ago traveling with one of the runners on the team in San Francisco, and there’s this place called Skyline Boulevard. It’s got redwoods, ocean on one side, San Francisco on the other. It’s about a 20 mile trail.

Least favorite place to run: Route 590, a two lane road that I spent every day on in high school.

Biggest addiction: Now, Baby Ruth candy bars.

Newspaper you want deliverd to your door: The Washington Post

Worst fear: Not being happy.

Web site you visit the most: GUMail.

Three magazines on your coffee table: Track and Field News, National Geographic and Sports Illustrated

Three people, dead or alive, with whom you want to have dinner, and what you would eat: My grandpa, who’s dead, so it would be good to talk to him. Coach Gagliano, ’cause he’s paying and we eat a lot, so it’s going to be Italian for dinner. And Matt Dunn – he used to go here and went to my high school. He also ran and I haven’t seen him in a while.

Preferred beverage when not running: A nice Guinness.

Person that has influenced you the most: My mom, ’cause we had a lot of hard times and she always forgives me. She’s taught me understanding.

Hobbies: Skiing, any sport any time depending on the season, ping pong, video games, and you’ll usually see me outside cDonough before meets bouncing a ball off the wall with my glove.

Do you have a nickname? Smith, but it’s standard practice on the team [to call people by their last names]. It’s an insult if you get called by your first name.

What you do to prepare for a race:

The process starts the night before when I shave all the hair off my head, then I start visualizing the race the way I want it to go, right up ’til the race [begins].

Most prized possession: I don’t really have any, but if I lost something that would bother me the most, it would probably be this ring. I’ll leave it at that.

Can I ask who gave you the ring? No.

You are given the keys to any car. What do you drive off in? Easy. A McLaren F1. It’s a cockpit fitted to you. They specially make it for you. It goes 240 miles per hour. If you damage the titanium muffler, it would cost $30,000 to replace. It costs about a million dollars.

Are you sad you about graduating? I think I’m ready. I always thought I would be [sad], though.

Do you want to stay in D.C. after graduation? Yeah, I love this area. Every time I leave to go home or go on a trip, I look back at the campus or city and can’t wait to get back.

Career you wish to pusue: Eventually I want to work for the Secret Service.

What is under your bed right now? Various infestations, I’m sure – rodents and bugs.
