So why is the pep band so important?

We are responsible for getting the crowd involved. We play the music of Georgetown. The Fight Song. We are the first line responsible for getting the team hyped up. Can you imagine what the games would be like with no music?

What is your favorite song that the pep band plays?

Right now it’s “Frankenstein” and “The A-Team Theme”. We do them very well and they draw a good crowd response.

What is your favorite kind of music that does not involve the words “Go Hoyas,”Hoya Saxa” or “na-na?”

I love many styles of music. Jazz and R&B are two of my favorites. I’m also into hip-hop.

What is your favorite instrument and why?

Piano, though I don’t play it well at all. It has all the answers. You can play the chords, the melody and see how everything works right in front of you.

What are your favorite activities besides music?

I’m a big football fan. The Skins are my team. Yeah, they suck right now but hopefully they’ll get it together. Recently I’ve started salsa dancing and I’m pretty good at it. I’m also into working out and bike riding. Got to stay fit.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Producing solo projects for current and up-and-coming artists. I’m currently working on my own project and you can check some of it out at my Web site www.aaronbroadus.com.

And finally, do you have any creative ideas for how the pep band can induce Georgetown’s football team to post a winning record?

Yeah right! Only if I was Gandalf the Great. They are getting better and that is a good sign. If I did have some good ideas then the Redskins would be posting a winning record as well.
