Katie Thomas/The Hoya Freshman Rebekkah Brunson led the Hoyas with 23 points Wednesday. Freshman forward Rebekkah Brunson once again earned Big East Rookie of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 21. It was the second consecutive week Brunson has garnered the award and for the fourth time this season. She had a stellar week, going 12 of 16 from the floor when scoring a career-high 28 points in the Hoyas’ 76-56 win against Pittsburgh on Wednesday. She had 16 points and 17 rebounds in their 72-71 overtime win against Providence, which was her seventh double-double of the season. No Hoya has had more than 17 rebounds in a single game since the 1995-96 season. Brunson is averaging 8.6 rebounds per game, leading the team and placing her second in the conference. She is second on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game. The Hoyas are 13-7 overall and 5-4 in Big East play.
