A GUSA resolution urging campus press to develop a code of ethics passed unanimously last week.
The resolution, introduced by GUSA Assembly Chair Jack Ternan (COL ’04) and Representative Matt Mauney (COL ’05), encouraged campus press outlets to practice self-discipline concerning accuracy and originality in reporting.
The resolution calls for an “ethics system for campus journalists and encourages the campus media outlets to work together to formulate such a system with the assistance of the Student Association if necessary.”
