Clinton to Reflect on His Economic Record at GU

Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to speak in Gaston Hall Friday as part of a discussion focusing on the economic record of the Clinton presidency and its relevance in the current fiscal downturn.

Sponsored by the Clinton Foundation, the event will also feature former White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles and a number of former members of Clinton’s cabinet, including former Secretary of the Treasury Robert Rubin and former Chair of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers Laura Tyson.

“Clinton-Gore Economics: Understanding the Lessons of the 1990s” will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the Clinton Foundation, the event will celebrate the 20th anniversary of then-Governor Clinton’s New Covenant speeches, in which he famously outlined his governing philosophy in Gaston Hall during the fall of 1991.
