I moved to Washington, D.C., on August 28 and started my classes immediately. After leaving the comfort of my environment, home is made bearable not just by the academic knowledge that I have been able to acquire in the last month, but also by people like Larry Calloway, who I met for the first time on Thursday, October 4. I took the GUTS shuttle from Dupont Circle to the main campus, and as we approached the main entrance, Larry broke out into a motivational speech, which made me all the more sure that Georgetown University was the right institution for me. Otherwise, where else would a bus driver do this?
