Former NBA player Othella Harrington (C ’96) will join the men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2011-12 season, Head Coach John Thompson III announced today. Harrington was a four-year starter for the Hoyas before being drafted by the NBA’s Houston Rockets, the same year fellow Hoya Allen Iverson was the first overall pick. He played for five different teams in his 12-year NBA career.
Harrington ranks fifth on Georgetown’s all-time scoring list with 1,839 points and fourth on the school’s all-time rebounding list with 983 boards.
