**Unfare:** The D.C. Metro board of directors approved a 10-cent fare increase intended to help cover the $40 million gap in the current operating budget. *Thumbs Down*

**Robo-Rodent:** People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals called for the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club to replace its famous critter with an animatronic robot. *Thumbs Down*

**Faux Pas:** Gov. Robert McDonnell (R-Va.) sent invitations to his response to the State of the Union address to the Democratic leadership only two hours before the RSVP deadline. *Thumbs Down*

**Encore:** “Jersey Shore” cast members Ronnie and J-WOWW have committed to shooting another season of the successful MTV show. *Thumbs Up*
