Hi Hoyas! With all of this ~criminal activity~ on campus lately, 4E wants to do their part to keep fellow Hoyas and members of our community as safe as can be with a PSA: GUPD has an Instagram account!!!
As you may have seen, at approximately 7:42 p.m. last Friday, our very own chief of police, Jay Gruber, notified us that the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred on campus Wednesday night had been identified and arrested in the Leavey Center. With the help of a student report, they were able to pull this off. But, with the help of Instagram, they were able to notify students much earlier!
(Evidence: This screenshot was taken at least 2 hours before any official notice was reported to students.)
Now as weird and perhaps even sketchy? as all of this was, we here at 4E would like to commend GUPD for reaching students where they are: Instagram.
Side note: Students were also on campus during this time, so maybe there could be another small protocol way of telling us when armed criminals are roaming our buildings… just a thought.
Anyway, they’ll get there! Let’s keep showing GUPD our support with a little Insta-love.
Their ratio right now is alright, but you know if this were your account you’d be telling yourself do better.
They also post cool bike pics like this. Plus if @thegeorgetownchimes likes their stuff, shouldn’t you?
Props to them on their charity work! Really impressive!!
Yet another side note:Â Still wondering if they have an update on my stolen bike from the first week of fall semester…
Sometimes they even pose with students! Bucket list fall 2015: get in a @gu_pd Insta!
Anyway, GUPD keep doing you and doing safety, we really appreciate it! Students, be sure to follow this account. You don’t want any FOMO about, you know, actual real world safety issues right outside our doors!
