This past weekend the women’s golf team headed to Wisconsin to play in the Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at University Ridge Golf Course. The Hoyas finished seventh out of 11 teams in the tournament – their worst finish this season. Host Wisconsin took home first place. The Hoyas had previously finished fourth of 12 at the Princeton Invitational earlier this month.

Georgetown sat in fifth place after day one but slipped to seventh on the final day of the tournament, which took place this past Sunday and Monday.

Junior Joan Dulieu finished 6-over par with a score of 144, good for 12th place after day one, while junior Eunae Jo and sophomore Jordan Redfield tied for 19th at 9-over with scores of 153.

Day two was less satisfying for the Hoyas, who dropped two spots below where they started Monday morning with a final score of 58-over par at 922 strokes. Wisconsin held its lead with an overall score of 15-over par (879 strokes), two strokes ahead of Augusta State, who held their second place position from day one at 17-over par (881 strokes). The University of Iowa came in third, with Xavier in fourth.

Individually, only one Hoya improved her ranking from Sunday to Monday. Freshman Alice Choi went from 36th place to 34th overall, finishing 7-over par at 79 strokes on day two with a total score of 19-over (235 strokes).

Dulieu, who had the most impressive finish for the Hoyas in 15th place, scored a 3-over par 75 on Monday.

Redfield, who was tied with teammate Eunae Jo for 19th after day one, finished in 28th place one spot ahead of Jo. Redfield scored a 7-over 79 in the final round with an overall score of 10-over par (232 strokes). Jo scored an 8-over 80 in day two for a total of 17-over (233 strokes). Sophomore Audrey Dalton, who was placed 54th after day one, finished in a tie for 54th. Dalton had an overall score of 28-over (244 strokes). Freshman Molly Plomaritis, who was playing as an individual, held her place at 60th for an overall score of 55-over (271 strokes).

The Hoyas will play next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8, 9 and 10 at the Xavier Invitational at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.”
