On Tuesday, University President John J. DeGioia announced that William Treanor will serve as the new Dean of the Georgetown University Law Center, beginning August 16.
Treanor will come to Georgetown having worked at Fordham University since 1991, where he acted as an Associate Professor and then Dean. He completed his Ph. D. in History at Harvard University this spring, and attended Yale University for his B.A. and J.D. Treanor also served as associate independent counsel during the Iran/Contra investigation.
“I very much look forward to working together and to his dynamic leadership of our Law Center in the years ahead,” DeGioia said in a university press release.
