The Georgetown men’s soccer team (15-2-2) will face the Hofstra Pride (14-7-0) in the second round of the NCAA tournament after Hofstra defeated Lehigh (13-6-3) in overtime. Hofstra freshman forward Daniel Massey scored in overtime to give his team a 2-1 win Thursday night.
Georgetown will have to focus on defending a dynamic duo of Hofstra midfielders. Junior midfielder Joseph Holland leads the Pride with eight goals and nine assists this season, while sophomore midfielder Meshack Eshun Addy has six goals and three assists.
The Hoyas, who earned the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament, will have home field advantage for the game, which is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Sunday at Shaw Field.
