Hump Day Chomp: Restaurant Week

Hump+Day+Chomp%3A+Restaurant+Week

By now, you all have probably heard the hype about Restaurant Week, and 75% probably heard it from me.

For those who are not in the know about the #foodgame here in D.C., I’ll pause here for a hot sec to let you catch up.

SO, to celebrate this joyous event, my sister, my best friend and myself headed out to one of D.C.’s premier restaurants: Lincoln. Because everyone knows that restaurant week is going up on a Tuesday.

I was expecting an amazing meal, but I was not expecting to have my mind blown by culinary mastery. Yes, Lincoln is that good.

The decor in the restaurant was jaw dropping. In the room we were seated in the ceiling was filled with mason jars and there was a huge pink light wall with words from one of Abraham Lincoln’s speeches.

Even our booth was fabulous, it was beyond comfortable and all the drinks were served out of mason jars. It was the perfect mix of #basic and #classy.

The food was an experience onto itself. Since it was restaurant week, we got a 4 course meal for $35.00 (plus tip). To help you understand why this meal was so good, I’m going to take you on a quick tour of my flawless meal:

Appetizers: I had the Sweet Potato Soup, which literally melt in my mouth. My sister got the Tater Tots, which were filled with goat cheese so they could not be bad even if they tried.

Salad: I opted for the Roasted Cauliflower because I had realized my love of cauliflower while abroad in Turkey. This dish did not disappoint, and it was not around for long (note: because I ate it all super fast).

Main: If you know me, you will know that there is nothing I adore more than risotto. To be honest, it was the reason I chose this restaurant in the first place. OMG it was so good, I struggled to finish it because it was so rich.

Dessert: As dessert is always the best part of the meal, the three of us shared the three options. I personally loved the Apple & Pear Crisp, but the Fudge Cake was also amazing as well.

My final verdict: Lincoln is an extraordinary restaurant. It is the perfect like chill first date location. I would for sure go back, any takers?

Even if you do not go with me, you should make the short trip over there anyway. Or, better yet, go experience restaurant week at any participating restaurant around D.C.. I swear, you will not regret it.
