A car crashed into the fence separating Wisemiller’s and The Tombs late Monday night.

The incident occurred behind Wisemiller’s in the parking lot, which is university property, according to Tombs Manager Chris George (COL ’09).

George said he heard about the incident around 10:30 p.m. but was not sure what would be done about fence repairs.

The vehicle was lodged in the fence and a tow truck was called to the scene, where officers from the Department of Public Safety and the Metropolitan Police Department had responded.

DPS Chief of Police Jay Gruber wrote in an email that Georgetown’s Office of Risk Management would take care of the situation. He noted that the crash seemed to be an accident.

“It appears the car was left in neutral and rolled from where it was parked,” he wrote.
