Theft, 1200 Block of 36th Street, 10 a.m.

A student reported that his laptop was stolen from out of his unattended backpack.

Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012

Alcohol Violation, Copley Hall, 2:15 a.m.

Department of Public Safety officers made contact with students in a room who were found to be in possession of open containers of alcohol. The case has been referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Friday, Feb. 17, 2012

Unlawful Entry, New Research Building, 10:45 a.m.

DPS officers made contact with two non-affiliated individuals who were observed unlawfully and suspected of being responsible for recent thefts from the loading dock. The Metropolitan Police Department was notified and the individuals were barred from campus.

Harassment, Uncommon Grounds, 2:06 p.m.

A student reported that she received unwelcomed Facebook messages and an unwelcomed text message from a non-affiliated customer whom she met while she was working.

Harassment, Uncommon Grounds, 8 p.m.

A student reported that she received numerous unwelcomed advances from a non-affiliated customer while she was working at the listed location. The individual was identified and he was barred from campus.

Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012

Defacement of Property, Red Square, 1:32 a.m.

A student reported that a large campaign sign that was hanging at the listed location had been defaced by unknown person(s) using spray paint.

Simple Assault, 3600 Block of Prospect Street, 2:30 a.m.

A student reported that she was struck in the face by an assailant with whom she had gotten into an argument while she waited in line. MPD was notified and is conducting the investigation.

DPS made contact with students in a room who were underage and found to be in possession of open containers of alcohol.

Theft, Yates Field House, 11:15 a.m.

A student reported that his unattended wallet was stolen from the locker room.

Theft, Yates Field House, 12:35 p.m.

A student reported that her wallet was stolen from an unsecured locker.

Simple Assault, Alumni Square, 2:45 p.m.

DPS was notified by MPD that a student was arrested after he assaulted his roommate.

Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012

Urinating in Public, Reiss Science Building, 1:27 a.m.

DPS officers made contact with a non-affiliated Georgetown University community member who was observed urinating in public. The individual was identified and he was barred from campus.

Monday, Feb. 20, 2012

Theft, Lauinger Library, 3:40 p.m.

A student reported that her unattended laptop was stolen from inside a cubicle.

Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012

Destruction of Property, Healy Hall, 2:30 a.m.

While on patrol a DPS officer observed a broken window on the ground floor. Further investigation revealed that a brick had been thrown the window.

Theft, Lauinger Library, 2:35 p.m.

A student reported that his bicycle was stolen from the bicycle rack.

Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012

Theft, Hariri Building, 3:25 p.m.

A staff member reported that her unattended laptop was stolen from her cubicle. The case is under investigation.

The blotter is compiled weekly by the Department of Public Safety.
