University Closed Until 11 a.m.

The university will not open until 11 a.m. today due to inclement weather, according to a HOYAlertemail sent to the main campus.

Classes scheduled before 11 a.m. are cancelled, although courses scheduled at 11 a.m. and later will proceed as usual.

The administration will try to keep Lauinger Library, Yates Field House, the Leavey Center, LeoO’Donovan Hall and Epicurean operating at normal hours.

Although emergency employees are required to report to work, other university employees do not have to come in until 11 a.m. or normally scheduled hours.

Georgetown University Transportation Shuttles will follow normal times and routes, weather permitting.

Light freezing rain is causing slick roads and unsafe driving conditions, according to the Washington Post. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 10 a.m.

The federal and city governments are also operating on delayed schedules of three and two hours, respectively.
